Men’s Group Therapy

Conversational Group therapy is an effective and powerful approach to both treating stress-related conditions and finding solutions to the underlying problems. It is a very powerful therapeutic technique used by many therapists. The groups offer support for people who share a common experience and give members an opportunity to hear a different perspective on common problems. The main idea of group therapy is to build trust between people and to reveal and share bitter experiences that they have experienced. Group therapy helps a person realize that they are not the only ones who have emotional problems, feel depressed or anxious and confused in their lives. Not only will you get professional advice from an experienced specialist, you will also benefit from experiences and insight of other members of the group. The act of giving help without expecting anything in return is very important in the healing process. If one client feels helpful to another client, it can raise their self-esteem and they can see that they have something of importance to give. On the other hand, the client who received help can understand that people find them to be of value and importance.

In a successful group, a unique family-like atmosphere evolves that makes the sessions attractive and comforting for the participants. Group therapy sessions are covered by many medical insurance plans.

Art Therapy Group

Art therapy is used to help people manage physical and emotional problems by using creative activities to express emotions. It provides a way for people to come to terms with emotional conflicts, increase self-awareness, and express unspoken and often unconscious concerns about their illness and their lives. Art helps people express hidden emotions; reduces stress, fear, and anxiety; and provides a sense of freedom. Many art therapists also believe the act of creation influences brain wave patterns and the chemicals released by the brain. Art therapy participants do not need to be good at art, which is simply used as a medium for confronting difficult emotions and to help with awareness and self-development.

People who received art therapy treatment had a significant improvement in mood, and decrease in depressive symptoms.
